What is Art Therapy? Art Therapy is a combination of art and psychology. It is a healing process that uses images, art media, and creativity and can be an excellent tool to reduce stress, anxiety, and depression. Art provides a new language for the verbally challenged. Should I know Art to join Art Therapy? No. There are absolutely no prior art skills required. Art is only a means to express subconscious feelings which may be difficult to share. Images influence emotion, thoughts, and well-being and how the brain-body reacts to the experience of drawing, painting, or other art activities. Why This Internship? Joining a new college and even starting a new year can be challenging. Well, a part of it is the sheer exhaustion, but also the anxiety that comes with meeting new people, being judged, having to make new friends, and the pressure from family. Art making can be Therapeutic for students and facilitate sharing stress and anxieties related to family peers, and academics, and build better coping mechanisms in a super fun way. This experiential way will benefit not only your mental health at a personal level but also your understanding of how expressive art therapy works with clients. So join us! About The Facilitator Piyush Jain is a Psychologist; Art Therapist (UNESCO) & Clinical Hypnotherapist(CHI), Illustrator, and Actor who has worked for over a decade in learning, design, illustration, and theater. They are the founder of Art Adventures Studio which is a safe space for Art, Wellness & Learning. They are a UNESCO-certified Expressive Art Therapist and Master Hypnotist certified by the California Institute of Hypnotherapy. What will be provided? 1.
